Description: The Belgian D’Anver is one of the iconic European exhibition breeds, with its beard, close-fitting rose comb, and bull neck being identifying traits. The Mottled D’Anver is considered rare as they are seldom seen at the shows, but Thomas has been keeping a good flock of them going here in Oregon and continuously selects for the birds with the best breed traits. There are two pair available this season. For the serious breeder, two pair would be a good beginning for a breeding program.
Pricing: Mottled Belgian D’Anver pairs are priced at $200. Box and shipping in the lower 48 states runs $135. The total cost for the birds with shipping and box is $335.
Recognition: The Mottled Belgian D’Anver is recognized for exhibition by both the APA and the ABA.
Shipping season: Mottled Belgian D’Anver generally ship the end of October through the end of May, depending on availability. Pick up at the farm by the buyer or their trusted courier can be arranged year-round.
Mottled Belgian D'Anver
We take great pride in shipping the vey best birds available. When you purchase from Blue Hour you have the confidence of purchasing from breeders with fifty years or more of experience breeding and selecting standard-bred fowl. We guarantee the birds are true to breed standard, healthy, and shipped using USPS approved boxes. We generally ship on Mondays and Tuesdays. Birds ship USPS Express Mail out of Portland, Oregon. If you would like to pick up at the farm or arrange courier pick up we can work with you to arrange a pick up date. Birds are normally shipped the end of October through the end of May. We do not ship during the summer months due to heat, though pick up at the farm can be arranged year-round.
We put a great deal of effort into making sure the birds we ship are healthy, boxed in USPS approved shipping boxes, and are packed with a source of moisture to reduce travel stress. Birds are shipped FOB Origin meaning the buyer takes ownership of the birds once they leave our hands. We recommend that you contact your local post office and ask them to call you as soon as the birds arrive, and add electrolytes to your birds’ drinking water upon arrival. Limit their feed for the first day. Travel is a stressor so it can take some time for birds to settle into their new environment. We do not offer a shipping refund for delayed arrival. The USPS offers $100 insurance per parcel in the event of loss. If you experience the loss of bird in transit you may request the insurance refund, if you choose to, via the USPS website. This purchase is not refundable.
