Cochin Bantams are one of the most popular breeds in The United States and we are so pleased to offer birds from some of the top lines. True to their roots, these are birds that replicate the mass of their large fowl counterpart but in true bantam size. The mass of soft feather and personable temperament make this breed a favorite for 4-H and FFA club work, and their classic lines make them a favorite of serious open show exhibitors as well. Don Bischof has raised the Buffs for many generations and they show both beautiful type and bright and consistent color. Don and I are also working on Cochin Bantams in Partridge, Black, White, and Blue and we hope to have enough numbers to be able to offer these later in 2021. Each bird is evaluated by Don and me for quality at different stages of development to ensure that only the best birds are selected for sale. Cochin Bantams normally ship October through April, depending upon availability of birds and agreeable weather conditions.

We take great pride in shipping the vey best birds available. When you purchase from Blue Hour you have the confidence of purchasing from breeders with fifty years or more of experience breeding and selecting standard-bred fowl. We guarantee the birds are true to breed standard, healthy, and shipped using USPS approved boxes. We generally ship on Mondays and Tuesdays. Birds ship USPS Express Mail out of Portland, Oregon. If you would like to pick up at the farm or arrange courier pick up we can work with you to arrange a pick up date. Birds are normally shipped the end of October through the end of May. We do not ship during the summer months due to heat, though pick up at the farm can be arranged year-round.
We put a great deal of effort into making sure the birds we ship are healthy, boxed in USPS approved shipping boxes, and are packed with a source of moisture to reduce travel stress. Birds are shipped FOB Origin meaning the buyer takes ownership of the birds once they leave our hands. We recommend that you contact your local post office and ask them to call you as soon as the birds arrive, and add electrolytes to your birds’ drinking water upon arrival. Limit their feed for the first day. Travel is a stressor so it can take some time for birds to settle into their new environment. We do not offer a shipping refund for delayed arrival. The USPS offers $100 insurance per parcel in the event of loss. If you experience the loss of bird in transit you may request the insurance refund, if you choose to, via the USPS website. This purchase is not refundable.
